AKC Judge Karen Wlordarski

Karen was raised in upstate New York and attended college in Albany and Boston, Massachusetts. After spending time in the information systems corporate world, including ten years with IBM, she has been a full-time realtor since 1992. She lived in Indiana for 18 years and relocated to coastal South Carolina in 1997.

Karen owned various breeds of dogs throughout her life, including a collie, beagle, flatcoat, and a variety of mixed breeds. She became involved in dog agility in 2000, starting with USDAA before moving to AKC, and quickly became addicted to the sport. Karen currently owns four papillions, actively competing with two. Her dogs have regularly competed at AKC nationals and the Eukanuba Invitational, earning a spot in the finals four times. Karen recently earned a 54th MACH title on her fourth campion agility dog, has taught agility classes and seminars, and became an AKC agility judge in 2009.

Each weekend finds her at an agility trials either competing, judging, or serving as trial secretary. She is looking forward to moving to southern California next year for improved access to AKC agility trials. Karen believes in building a strong and happy relationship with your dog and using positive reinforcement training techniques to be successful and have fun in the agility ring.
