I have been involved in agility since 1999 with my German Shorthaired Pointers. At that time, I never would have guessed that I would be so involved in this sport. My GSP Rosie took me beyond my wildest dreams, competing at AKC Invitational and Nationals, making history as the first GSP to earn MACHs 3-7, and reaching the number 1 spot for GSPs in the country one year and in the top 5 all of her years at Master level.
I have taught classes for a couple of clubs in my area for years and I became an agility judge to further expand the agility experience. Judging is one of the most fun endeavors I have undertaken. I am also the Trial Secretary for my club, giving me a full understanding of all of the work that trial secretaries do to get a trial up and running.
Running my 20 and 24 inch GSPs has given me the knowledge and understanding of how the bigger dogs stride and turn which has influenced my design of courses. Now I am running a 12” and just added a 16” poodle to my agility repertoire. I like to run courses that are flowing, open and fun for the dogs to run so I want my exhibitors to have the same experience when they run my courses.
Looking forward to meeting all of you and sharing two great days of agility!
