Cost
|
The fee for enrolling in our training
program is based on the number of dog's you handle, how many classes you take
and your type of membership.
Some examples on cost for training with the
club: Taking her first class with HAHA is, Suzy. Suzy is now
considered an Associate Member
of HAHA. She decides she wants to
sign up her two dogs, Spot and Rover, for classes. The total cost would be
$100 for Rover and Spot to each take 1 class (1st dog, Spot, $75,
2nd dog Rover, $25).
Suzy's husband, Tom, also an Associate Member, signs up their other dog Lassie
for two classes. He pays $100 for 1 dog, Lassie, to take two classes. Their
young son
Bob has been taking classes with HAHA and has recently been invited to
become a member. Now that he is a member he will pay $55 for his
dog, Rin Tin Tin, to take two classes (1st class $40, 2nd class $15). |

TRAINING |
All our training is motivational and through our classes you will be taught how to guide your dog into making the right decision. Your dog will learn through his successes. With the exception of our Puppy Class, dogs enrolling in class need to know basic commands (sit and down with a stay), be able to work off leash (stay with handler and not run off) as well as be dog and people friendly. A crate or x-pen is required. For the safety of all our dogs we require a copy of current vaccinations* which must be presented at registration (distemper, parvovirus and hepatitis). One dog per handler per class. Come to class prepared (crates, water & bowl, treats) and if it's your first time joining us please read our Training Field Policy.
GETTING STARTED IN AGILITY ~ Our Basic Agility Foundation Program |
||||
•
Introduction to Agility, Part I |
A dog one year of age or older entering our agility program without
any previous agility experience will begin his novice training program
with Introduction to Agility, Part I. After successfully
completely the 9 week program the handler and dog will advance to our
Introduction to Agility, Part II. These two programs (18 weeks) will
focus on teaching basic agility to the handler and introducing the dog to
all the equipment found in agility (the see-saw (teeter) and weave
poles may be omitted). The following session the dog would be placed in our
Introduction to Agility, Part III Handling class where an agility
system of handling will be taught along with mini courses involving
sequencing with contacts. At the end of these 3 nine weeks classes the handler and dog will have completed our Basic Agility Foundation Program and will be able to take any of our intermediate level classes as well as any introductory classes. During the time the novice dog is enrolled in the Basic Agility Foundation Program the handler may take additional novice classes such as Introduction to Weave-poles, Introduction to Seesaw, Introduction to Handling System or any introductory class. The Registration Chair, Anne or Arlene, or an instructor, will be able to aid you in designing the program that best fits the needs of you and your dog. If Introduction to Agility, Part II is not offered during a session it is because there are no dogs/handlers coming out of Introduction to Agility, Part I. |

It's never too early to get started on agility. |

This class will not be offered 1st Session 2011.
