Hi HAHA Members and Associates,
As of 3/19 there are 26 cases in the State of Hawaii of the coronavirus. With the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic, the HAHA Officers and Board made a difficult decision for the best interest of our club as a whole, members and associates.
As of 3/18, the Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu has announced that ALL City parks are closed through April 30th. As you know, we have our club’s agility classes and agility trials at Enchanted Lake Community Park. We have our agility seminars at Mililani Waena Neighborhood Park. These are NOW CLOSED.
Our Salt Lake Elementary School where we have agility classes and our trials (upcoming May 2-3,2020 trial) the DOE is cancelling ALL FACILITY PERMITS until further notice.
Our Judge Mr. Robin Kletke has withdrawn his assignment for our May 2020 trial since he is from Washington State , ground zero, where there are numerous cases of the coronavirus pandemic, along with deaths.
With the closure of the City parks and the cancellation of Facility permits, our club does not have a place to train, until these are lifted by the Mayor and the DOE.
We will be:
1. Postponing all classes this weekend’s( week 8, last class of the session).
2. Postponing the Nancy Gyes Seminar scheduled 4/17-19.
3. Postponing the HAHA Annual Awards Banquet for members scheduled 4/26.
4. Postponing the May 2-3, 2020 agility trial (we will continue to assess & look for a replacement judge).
We will be addressing the conditions and adjusting our club’s class dates, seminars and trials as they approach and decide accordingly.
Please look for upcoming emails and check the HAHA webite for updates.
Keep safe and shelter in place.
Sincerely,
Cathy Chock
President
