AKC Judge Bob Jeffers

 

 

B

ob hails from South Boston, MA, where he graduated from South Boston High School.  He entered the United States Air Force in May 1970, retiring in July 1999, from Eielson AFB, Alaska, as a Command Chief Master Sergeant.

Bob became a licensed AKC Agility Judge in July 2007.  He judges regularly in the United States— and has judged specialties for the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, the Brittney Spaniel Club, and the American Belgian Malinois Club.

He owns and trains German Shepherd Dogs in agility, obedience, rally, herding, and tracking.  Four of his adult dogs have been awarded the Performance Award of Merit from the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, earning AKC titles in agility, obedience, and herding.  His dog, Black, was the youngest GSD to receive this prestigious award at 2 years of age.  Bob and his dog, Viper, earned a Herding Starters w/Sheep A Course in one weekend. Neither he, nor Viper had never competed in herding before.  In June 2019, his youngest GSD Ryder, was awarded MACH7.  Bob has served as President of the Dog Training Club of Tampa and is presently a Board Member of the Tampa Bay German Shepherd Dog Club. He is also a member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America (GSDCA), where he was Chairperson of Agility.  He assisted in the inaugural GSDCA Top 20 Agility Invitational Program which has now become an annual event.  Bob’s greatest accomplishment and one that he is most proud of is with Ryder.  He and Ryder finished as the #3 German Shepherd Dog and have earned a spot in the 2019  AKC Agility Invitational to be held close to home in Orlando, FL.

Bob holds an Associate’s Degree in Aerospace Ground Equipment Technology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Studies from Barry University, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Barry University.

Bob currently resides in Odessa, Florida with his wife, Laura.
